Transit

Atlantic Ocean

11/12/24

Written by incoming deckhand educator, Autumn:

After a weeks in Cape Canaveral due to unfavorable weather, we are underway to St. Croix! All the ships company is excited to be back on the ocean with the wind in our sails. Our time underway has been equally busy as our first transit leg, filled with sleep, watch, and class. The whirlwind watch schedule is punctuated with moments that set each day apart. Today, those included a pilot whale siting, catching a wahoo with “the lovers parasites” and for me personally, going aloft while underway for the first time on Deni

Much of the crew eagerly wonders just how long this leg of transit will take, but I look forward to the adventures each new day will bring and our arrival to St. Croix on the distant horizon.
