Ship’s Log written by students Sabrina, Lizzy, Mycal, Ace and Teddy

August 5, 2024

Sabrina:

A couple things have happened since my last ship log, we had a storm during breakfast cleanup, went ashore and started a "family". I'm still having a lot of fun and have made plenty friends amongst everyone. I get homesick a couple times, however it always passes. The crew has been very kind and is always there to help us. Personally, I think they have a lot of patience to deal with us all. For now, there's nothing else to say that I can think of.

Lizzy:

Hey guys, I hope y'all are doing well. Since my last ship log, I've gathered plenty of storys to tell you about. I've been having great time and I can't wait to tell you all about it when I get back home. Miss you guys and can't wait to see you all again when I get back<3

Mycal:

Since the last log, I have been completely rained on during dishes, gone fishing and caught nothing, saw whales and other sea mammals, and have still avoided actually jumping in and swimming in the water. That's all for now, I will keep you guys updated in the next log, see you guys soon!

Ace:

Hey mother, father, Alina, & of course, my favorite sibling, Princess :)

*How are you all doing? Let me guess how everyone is:

-Mom: Worrying too much about me

-Dad: Watching the Olympics

-Alina: Just realized I left 2 days ago

-Princess: Missing her walks :(

I, thankfully, have been doing well. Naturally, I've got enough stories to pleasure all of you, even Princess, but I'll save you the earful for when I return, but while it's still fresh in my head, I think I should worry my dear mother just a little. Thankfully, I have been showering, though today was my first real shower (the Skunky has been coming in really handy), brushing my teeth is a bit of a handle, though I've become accustom to brushing it on the deck, and the raising of the sails are becoming easier as the days progress. Mother, do not fret, I am not sick, my body isn't aching too much, and I haven't gotten injured. Though the food could be better, it's manageable, just like everything else on the boat (including my sleep, it's nothing like home, but bearable).Though tonight we may be looking at 30mph winds ;)

*How are you all doing?

Today should've been Ms. Alina's first day of high school. Apologize for me mom (or dad, I don't know who this emails being sent to) to Alina, I hope she had a decent first day of high school. You two try and encourage her, it's really different from middle school, so she's gotta toughen up. Let her know that when I come back, I won't be her little shield, but that she has to make a person of herself. Make sure to check up on her daily (as your parentally job), and most importantly, ask her if she's made any friends. They all make the school day just a little more bearable in that hot, concrete, jungle. Also let her know that if anyone asks about me, to just keep it vague, like "He's away right now", no one needs to know.

Mom, you take it easy too. I hope you get a good set of students this semester, as always, and to not push your old body too much. The last thing anyone wants to come home too is you needing massages!

Dad, stay strong as always, and enjoy your horseracing and the rest of the Olympics. I hope that when I come back, my new reading spot has some new grass ;)

And to Princess, I hope your hot spots go away mama. Make sure Alina takes you on daily walks, and be a good girl for me with your baths. I need you clean for when I come back home!

Everyone, stay safe, stay healthy, and don't worry about me, I'm alive and kicking!
