Boston International Newcomers Academy: Day 3

*A course change notice from the WOS office:
Due to southeasterly winds yesterday and the wind direction forecast over the next few days, Captain Schoettle has decided that the ship will change course from its original itinerary! While New York City was the intended destination for this voyage, it is no longer likely that the ship will have enough time to make it there and back before students have to disembark on July 5th. Instead, students and crew will sail Denis Sullivan north to Maine where the winds are currently more favorable. Shore excursions will include small islands and exploring much of the coastal beauty that Maine has to offer! Everyone on board continues to be excited for the adventure of exploring a new place together.

Mamadi
My favorite part of the day is seeing the dolphins and looking out for boats and things, the hardest part of my day is washing the dishes. It feels great to be with my classmates here because we talk to each other and play.
Veken
My favorite part of the day was driving the boat at the helm and I saw some dolphins that were in the water close to the boat. The bow watch was hard for me because it was really sunny. My favorite food so far was chicken and fish.I slept well but I woke up to do anchor watch at 4 in the morning. That was hard.

la journée était vraiment géniale et c'était vraiment calme , la plus grande partie de la journée était quand on regardait les dolphins ca ma fait sentir que je vivais vraiment une aventure qui très cool et cette journée était l' un des meilleurs.

I love night shifts, they are the most peaceful thing that I have ever done before, while you are looking at the stars you can think about yourself and the wind also, you are taking care of the boat. Another thing is that you can apply your hobbies while you are on the boat for example, before writing this I was playing guitar.

Mi parte favorita del día es ver los delfines y buscar barcos y cosas, la parte más difícil de mi día es mirar los platos. Se siente genial estar aquí con mis compañeros porque hablamos y jugamos.

Mi parte favorita del día fue conducir el barco al timón y vi algunos delfines que estaban en el agua cerca del barco. La guardia de proa fue difícil para mí porque hacía mucho sol. Mi comida favorita hasta ahora era el pollo y el pescado. Dormí bien pero me desperté para vigilar el ancla a las 4 de la mañana. Eso fue difícil.

El día fue realmente genial y muy tranquilo, la mayor parte del día fue cuando vimos a los delfines, me hizo sentir como si realmente estuviera viviendo una aventura muy genial y este día fue uno de los mejores.

Me encantan los turnos de noche, son lo más tranquilo que he hecho antes, mientras miras las estrellas puedes pensar en ti y en el viento también, estás cuidando el barco. Otra cosa es que puedes aplicar tus pasatiempos mientras estás en el barco, por ejemplo, antes de escribir esto yo tocaba la guitarra.

A minha parte favorita do dia é ver os golfinhos e procurar barcos e coisas assim, a parte mais difícil do meu dia é observar os pratos. É ótimo estar com meus colegas aqui porque conversamos e brincamos.
Veken
A minha parte favorita do dia foi conduzir o barco ao leme e vi alguns golfinhos que estavam na água perto do barco. O relógio de proa foi difícil para mim porque estava muito ensolarado. Minha comida favorita até agora era frango e peixe. Dormi bem, mas acordei para vigiar a âncora às 4 da manhã. Isso foi difícil.

o dia foi realmente ótimo e muito calmo, a maior parte do dia foi quando observamos os golfinhos isso me fez sentir como se estivesse realmente vivendo uma aventura muito legal e esse dia foi um dos melhores.

Adoro os turnos noturnos, são a coisa mais tranquila que já fiz antes, enquanto você olha as estrelas você pode pensar em você e no vento também, você está cuidando do barco. Outra coisa é que você pode aplicar seus hobbies enquanto estiver no barco, por exemplo, antes de escrever isso eu tocava violão.

Ma partie préférée de la journée est de voir les dauphins et de surveiller les bateaux et autres, la partie la plus difficile de ma journée est de regarder la vaisselle. C'est génial d'être ici avec mes camarades de classe parce que nous nous parlons et jouons.
Veken
Mon moment préféré de la journée a été de conduire le bateau à la barre et j'ai vu des dauphins qui étaient dans l'eau près du bateau. Le quart d'étrave a été dur pour moi car il faisait vraiment beau. Jusqu'à présent, mon plat préféré était le poulet et le poisson. J'ai bien dormi mais je me suis réveillé pour faire le quart d'ancre à 4 heures du matin. C'était dur.

J'adore les quarts de nuit, c'est la chose la plus paisible que j'ai jamais faite auparavant, pendant que vous regardez les étoiles, vous pouvez penser à vous et au vent aussi, vous prenez soin du bateau. Une autre chose est que vous pouvez appliquer vos passe-temps pendant que vous êtes sur le bateau par exemple, avant d'écrire ceci, je jouais de la guitare.
