Summer Ambassador Program (Day 9)

Buzzards Bay, MA

August 10th, 2023

This trip was ok. I got to meet a lot of cool people. We got to see a lot of places. I didn’t like going swimming I found sea bugs in my swimsuit. The captain was fun, he told me stories of how he started sailing. I got to draw a lot and it was fun to draw with friends. The food was great, our cook is very nice. We got to sleep on deck which was fun. Our group leaders were really fun, we got to play games-lots of games and the people in my group were also real fun.

The summer ambassador program for me has been a lot of fun but very tough. I didn’t realize how much attention this group needed and I felt like a parent for most of it.

Seeing this kids grow and step out of their comfort zones has been such an amazing experience. I remember in the beginning quite a few of them were quiet and to themselves, they didn’t want to step up and learn uncomfortable things. They all encourage each other in the best ways possible and I saw these kids show who they really are. I haven’t seen a group of so many different kids care for each other like they do.

With all the good and all the bad, the food has made this trip all the better. Talia works so hard and has made amazing meals for us to enjoy and is always there when you need someone to talk to. They made my homesickness better with flavorful food.

In all, this trip has been very successful and has taught me more than I thought it would.
