Sea Challenge (Day 2)
Boston to Provincetown, MA
July 22, 2023
Yesterday, I learned a lot about tall ships and how to set sail. We went to Provincetown. We swam in the ocean and I got to sail the ship and we raised the anchor this morning.

Food is great and no lack of it. We had swim call yesterday, we all got clean and the water was surprisingly warm. The chores we do everyday are decently easy. This boat is very similar to Roseway but with a different layout. We have been sailing all day yesterday and ended in P-town. About halfway to P-town we saw a bunch of whales and a NOAA ship tagging them [the whales] as well. Today we are going to Great Misery Island when we get there we will probably go for a swim to wash off.

Yesterday, we reached the first day of full sailing. After docking because of the rattling storm, we began moving at 7:00am. Our voyage took us through a hotspot for whale watching. Later, entering the evening, we stopped for our first swim. That night, just past the beginning of nightfall, we began anchor watch. This kept us plenty busy. We raised anchor just past 7:00am. We have begun to see signs of fatigue in many younglings and crew. We now embark for Misery Island to hike past day-break. Once arrived we plan to swim. We plan to arrive at 4:00pm with the trip being 37 miles and with a sailing speed of 5 knots. The food on the ship seems to be consistently great. Jake really be good with that food. Cap. K [Captain Wells] has been a great leader among this and is quite fun to talk to. I have learned tons from him. We are still being informed for schedule over the next few days.
