Senior Summer Ambassador 2022: Day 5

Gloucester, MA USA

Log Entry by A Watch (Lain, Rio, Lily, Falcon)

Tuesday, August 2, 2022

We started our day in Plymouth Massachusetts, a little south of Boston. As everyone got up, we did our morning chores, then we had pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Then we set sail and gybed to get out of Plymouth and head for Gloucester. A Watch was on active watch first where we did boat checks, forward lookout, and got to be at the helm. We had to be careful and dodge the lobster pots. We did more stretching with Ben, then we had lunch, which was spaghetti and pesto penne pasta with bread. We were given a group lesson on wind from Ben as well which was very interesting. Then A Watch had seamanship where we learned more of the pins and ropes on the boat and learned the history of Roseway. Fun fact, the Roseway went through an emo phase and had a machine gun while being painted all black during WWII. Then we had R & R where we all took a nap that was much needed. After our naps we put all the sails down and we also saw Roseway’s sister ship, the Adventure. As we anchored in Gloucester, we ate chicken rice bowls. To end off our night some of the crew started the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. During A Watch’s early morning anchor watch we drew a bunch of different things including drawing the whole crew as mushrooms. Overall it was a fun and really busy day.
