We woke up and had some morning chores, C watch did deck wash for the first time. We then took sail and sailed off the hook, that just means we started to sail without the engine. Then we had two drills, we had a fire drill and a man overboard drill. On the boat we had a lesson with Meg about boats. It was very interesting. We arrived in Newport Rhode Island and dropped anchor. Everyone was happy to finally get on land, so we took trips on the small boat to the dock. Once everyone arrived on the dock we all went to a park and played capture the flag. C watch was the first watch to get their flag taken. Aurora then got us some ice cream which was really good especially because it was hot outside. After some more rounds of capture the flag we had a relay race and it was a tie between the two teams so everyone got to have some jolly ranchers and or lifesavers. We then finished up at the park and headed back to the docks, while waiting for the small boat, some people went to the beach to collect shells, sea glass. On the way back on the small boat we all got soaking wet. On the boat we chilled until fireworks, some people played cards, others played board games and some people even made friendship bracelets. Then we all watched fireworks and everyone loved them. At the end all the boats honked and tooted because they loved it so much. Then it was a quiet ship and we all went to bed, except for the people on night watch.
