Last night the anchor watches went well, it was chilly and everyone was a little bit tired, but it was a successful watch. We were woken up to the sound of Maddy’s voice calling all hands up on the deck. We started our morning chores and ate a strong, filling breakfast of potatoes and sausage. Once finished, we cleaned up our breakfast and prepared for the day. We grouped together and started raising the sails. We pulled up the anchor and sailed off the hook. Once off the anchor we first started our watches rotating through active watch, seamanship, and R&R. Shortly after we were on the bowsprit, we raised the jib which is the front sail. Then we did a lesson on sharks with Aurora. After our lesson we went back to our watches. We did that until it was time to drop anchor. We sailed into the hook using the wind and dropped anchor. After that we furled the jib and the jumbo and finished pulling down the main and fore sails. Then we dried off from the rain and we played charades in the main salon. After we finished our intense game of charades, we had around 1 hour of free time. Then it was time for dinner! Dinner was Mac and cheese which was very good. Then it was time to clean up and do chores. We ended the day by watching a movie and then it was free time for the various groups to do the anchor watches.
