This week has been an interesting but long one so far. It started out Monday and Tuesday with our last two days with students before Christmas. Those went well with one day out sailing and the other at the dock sending the students aloft. Wednesday started off with an all staff meeting talking about the next few months along with introducing us to the rest of the team running World Ocean School who we haven't met yet. The rest of Wednesday and Thursday we deep cleaned a lot of the boat. This included cleaning all the compartments thoroughly from top to bottom then cleaning out bilges which lead to towels, shirts and even a flip phone being found in the bottom of the ship from who knows when. This morning started off with a nature walk for our six deckhands where we got to learn more about the islands and the animals that live on it. This evening is a dockside party with a steel drum band that I am looking forward to, and tomorrow we will have a day off to rest. Wow this really has been a long week.
