Ashley Hall (Day 6)

Off the coast of Cuba

4/3/25

Today is day 7 of the trip but day 6 at sea. Last night we were on watch from 2000-0000 which is one of my favorite watches. We learned how to tie knots and practiced lines while also singing shanties. We watched the sun go down, it was one of the prettiest sunsets so far. And then we went and finished galley cleanup from the previous watch because they ran out of time due to reefing the sail. Midway through we ate our midrat, which was so good. It was passionfruit sorbet. It was pretty calm last night, the waves were only about 3 feet, and it wasn’t quite so windy. My favorite part about this watch and all night watches are looking at all the stars that we don’t get to see back in Charleston. And looking at the bioluminescence, which also are rare back home! And we also saw a few shooting stars.
