Gifft Hill School (Day 4)

St. Thomas, USVI

3/20/25

Today was our last full day on the Denis Sullivan. We had a normal wake up at 7:20am. At 8:00 we hauled up the anchor and set sailed for St. John usvi. While underway we set up for breakfast and had dutch pancakes. After breakfast we started our morning chores. We did bowls and soles which is cleaning the bathroom and floors. During morning chores it became really rocky bewteen Culabra and STT. Group rotations started; we started with the active watch. which included driving, navigation, and boat check. During R&R we ate snacks and chilled. Then we went out on the front of the boat and enjoyed the view. We saw 3 cruise ships and looked out for dolphins and whales (we didn’t see any sadly). While we were going in between STT and STJ, a bunch of people came and took pictures of us. When we reached Francis Bay St, we had the schooner Olympics, which involved 3 rounds, which were knot tying, coil and hanging/working coil and ballotine, and finally, a fun relay race. During the relay race we had to put on a foulie suit, then, tie a bucket to a pole, get water, and squirt it into a cup that was held by the chaperones. After that we had to jump around the deck on a bouy. Then, we had a looooooong swim call. It was super duper fun. Hello there, I am Max my most favoritest part of the day was when we were rocking back and forth. Yo, Olivia here, my favorite part of the day was when we won the Olympics (Obviously). Wa Goin On im Kimyah and my favorite part of the day is when we were braiding Max’s hair it looked MAXNIFICENT. Today B watch felt OVER PLUTO/ ON TOP OF THE WORLD. Our parting tomorrow of the DENIS SULLIVAN is BITTERSWEET; we will be HAPPY to go home but SAD to leave the amazing crew members. - LOVE the B(EST) watch.
