Summer Ambassador Program (Day 3)
Cape Cod Bay
August 4th, 2023
So far so good we got an intro to life on the Denis Sullivan, or ‘Denny’ as the crew calls it. We had a problem with the dinghy so we were stuck on the dock. We learned how to coil rope and different coils.

So far all has been good! Our cook Talia is amazing. They make great food! Every crew member is amazing as well!! They are so kind and patient and do so much for us. Sadly on day 1 we couldn’t sail but day 2 we could. We made it to the top of Massachusetts and we all took turns sailing and I had night watch which wa so cool and I learned about Moon Jelly and bioluminescence. We all get chores and it’s nice to clean, it keeps us safe. My favorite part of cleaning is deck wash! It’s so fun to wet the deck and sweep around. I learned how to steer and got to make my own flag for my group. I got to learn about my shipmate’s past and where they’re from. I lose track of time so fast cause one minute it’s 8am and then it’s almost lunch! I’m having such a blast! Doing boat checks keeps me busy and the snacks are top tier! This trip makes me want to learn more and more about sailing and the ocean! Just don’t want this to end!
