Sea Challenge (Day 5)
Gloucester, MA
July 24, 2023
When our crew was making the trek through the Cape’s arm we had the opportunity to observe a Mola Mola and many blue whales who decided to venture a little too close to our vessel. Coming this close to these creatures was a first for many. Watching the reactions of those this was a first time for was definitely an unforgettable memory from this trip, and for me, seeing the Mola Mola was the first in a long time. On top of getting to watch it peacefully float. I also got to learn about these honestly pretty random creatures from our very smart first mate, Jen.

So far this is a very eye opening experience. It’s pushed me to make new friends, learn about tall ships and how to work on them. I have seen whales, crazy looking fish, all while having so much fun. Sleeping out on deck, looking at the stars, playing games in the galley while it rains, waking up to see a beautiful sunrise anchored off the Cape are just some of the memories I will keep with me forever and this trip has given me.
