Meet The Team
Samuel Johnson
Sam was raised on Maryland's Eastern Shore and grew up outdoors and on the water, which helped foster an enduring love for wildlife and the natural world. He is an avid sailor, woodworker, and historian, and worked as a shipwright after finishing undergraduate studies in maritime and British history. He first sailed with World Ocean School on the Schooner Roseway in 2012, as part of the Summer Ambassador Program, before returning in 2016 as a Junior Watch Officer. He has also worked on several other tall ships throughout high school and college, most recently aboard the Maryland Dove. Sam is looking forward to helping others have an enjoyable, rewarding experience at sea with World Ocean School.
