Chris Sauer
Chris has been in some form of international education since he lived in the northern Kalahari of Botswana as a Peace Corps volunteer high school English teacher. In the thirty years since, he’s honed his skills with studies in Applied Linguistics at Ohio University, teaching and administering programs on the Navajo reservation, in Iowa, Ohio, Colorado and Massachusetts. Currently, Chris is the Executive Director of International Growth and Strategy for St. George’s University in Grenada.
He and his family are avid kayakers, canoers and sailors. Their 45 foot Hans Christian sloop, Africa, is docked in Winthrop and they and their salty boat ply the waters from Cape Cod to Penobscot Bay. Working with Roseway and the World Ocean School represents a nexus of vocation and avocation and the opportunity to use his educational experience in a new context.
