We spent a gorgeous weekend sailing with Boy Scouts Troop 119 from Lexington MA. After a day of sailing throughout the Boston Harbor Islands on Saturday, we shuffled their gear on to Lovell's Island where they built a campfire and camped for the night as we anchored off the island keeping watch all night. Bright and early Sunday morning they were back on board and ready to set sail for another day of tall ship learning and testing their knowledge in the deckhand olympics--a tough competition that they all reported being the most challenging aspect of the weekend.
On Monday we kicked off the week with 5th graders from Josiah Quincy School, as they walked down to the water from Chinatown to haul on the sails and explore the life aboard, seeing the city from a whole new perspective. We hope the weather holds as we have lots more kids and new programs in these last two weeks in Boston.
And don't forget, our last Boston fundraiser of the season is another Harpoon Beer Tasting this Thursday!
