More than 100 students joined the crew this week from all across Boston and the surrounding areas. 7th and 8th graders from the Eliot School in the North End and 5th graders from Haley Pilot School in Roslindale returned to review the lessons they learned in their week aboard Roseway in June. Additionally, 5th graders from the Jackson School in Newton, MA (pictured here) kicked off their new school year with a morning on board. It was beautiful weather and lovely sailing all week. To top it off we love to hear from teachers how engaged the students are and how effective our program is for the students. One teacher this week particularly noted how much one of the girls, who has traditionally been a less academically successful student, was doing and had retained from her week with us last year. It is a privilege for us to get to work with these kids and help them find success in learning while watching them thrive aboard as crew.
We are off for a weekend in the Boston Harbor Islands with Boy Scouts from Lexington. Stay tuned.
