Make and mend day! It was our second day in Savannah, Georgia full of rain, ditty bags, and fun activities. Since spirits have been a bit low due to waiting out another hurricane, the instructors planned lots of fun for our stay. Following morning chores, we kicked off the first half of our day with ditty bag time. The salon was filled as the rain give our hanging laundry a “fresh water rinse”. After grumbling through attaching bottom circles to our bags, we ate lunch. Then most of us packed day bags and prepared to go ashore to a very big, open park. We had to take a small boat across the river, and then walk half and hour through Savannah under Spanish moss, green plants, and many memorials. Once we got to the park we all dispersed. I got to play lots of frisbee and football, go for a walk, and just run around. A group of us then spent the last hour playing an intense game of four on four soccer the teams were me, Holly, Hannah, and Brad vs Morgan, Dylan, Jake, and Jasper. Originally we were going to play first to ten, then it became eleven, and we finally ended on the first to fifteen. Our team was in the lead up to eleven points, but the enemy bad guys swooped in at the end and took the game with fifteen goals. We headed back for dinner followed by nightly chores and a super exciting surprise of a night swim in our docking host’s heated pool. The whole gang had a lot of fun splashing around. I had a lot of fun being apart of an epic game of jackpot with the football. I got to play with Jake, Camille, Jasper, Dylan, and Saul. And even though I didn’t win too may points it was a ton of fun. Overall, today was made very fun despite the unfortunate weather obstacles.
