It was around 8:40pm. We just had s'mores with our Proctor Ocean Classroom Director Brooks and Head of School Mike. Kingsely and I were packing, some people were just messing around and having fun playing a kazoo that was brought. I had changed and gotten ready for bed although I was still not finished packing. While I was working on gathering my things I suddenly heard one of our educators Thane playing guitar in a tune I know. A few more were singing something vaguely familiar. Kingsely, Julia, and I walked onto the porch to find just about everyone singing Taylor Swift and we decided to join in at “She wears short skirts, I wear t shirts.” After that we sang Love Story, Our Song, American Pie, Home, Riptide, Let It Go, and Wagon Wheel. Looking around and seeing everyone smiling really made me feel as though the group was officially one family. It was a memorable way to end our time at Camp Kenwood, leaving us with a sense that we are getting closer and closer to our new home. Now I’m looking forward to the rest of this amazing journey!
