On Saturday, thirteen students from the Savannah squadron of the Sea Cadets (grades 4-8) sailed aboard Roseway for three hours along the Savannah River learning about the physics of lift (how boats sail), local maritime history, navigation, and the life of a sailor. They also climbed out onto the bow sprit for a different perspective.
These Sea Cadets meet once a month for different activities that help to introduce them to military life. They had a great time sailing the river and meeting Roseway's crew. Maybe in a few years we'll see some of them back on board as full time crew!
