After being at sea for 12 days, the Captain and crew of Roseway had twelve hours in Boston before dropping lines and setting sail again. This time the destination was a bit closer that the last 1700 miles -- a pleasant day sail to Duxbury, Massachusetts. And since arrival back in New England only two days ago, they have managed to shower, shave, scrub the boat clean, stow the offshore gear, re-stock the galley with food, launder their uniforms, dress the ship with flags, and present a Roseway that is ship-shape and ready for viewing.
Good thing, too, since we are the star attraction here at Duxbury's Opening of the Bay Festival which begins tonight. Roseway will be open for tours over the weekend before heading back to Boston on the high tide Sunday morning.
It's a beautiful spring weekend here and while the water is a bit colder and the sun a little less warm than the Caribbean we just left, it's nice to be back in our home waters.
