Looking back on St Croix 2012-2013
Today marks Roseway’s official last day of our season in St. Croix. The winter seems to have come and gone in no time at all. We were fortunate to work with many wonderful children during the last couple of months. Add to that a popular sunset sail crowd and highly successful fundraising event at the St. Croix Yacht Club, it would be safe to say this was a great season. The crew is busy taking in some last minute island recreation as well as laundry and errands.
Looking out to sea, things are shaping up nicely as well. The next two weeks will take Roseway to St. John and St. Thomas where we will continue education programs with local youth. Our travels will take us to Cruz Bay and Coral Bay on St. John and Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas. Immediately following the two weeks of day programing we will begin our first of two back-to-back overnight programs.
We can’t thank the volunteers and supporters of the World Ocean School here in St. Croix enough. From Volunteer-Extraordinaire Dennis manning the seasick bay to local business and concierge that talk up our programs and sunset sails, we appreciate your efforts. There are too many to list them all, but you know who you are. Again, thank you everyone.
Look forward to ships logs written by new crew-in-training who will be participating in the overnight programs coming up.
