Reporting in from Jost Van Dyke

Watch B: Becket Emily India Cayla Kristina

Last night was our first anchor watch, and it was enjoyed across the board. We were introduced to boat checks, constellations, and Rod's midnight snacks (Peanut Butter Cookies). Despite being up at alternating hours during the night, we got some much needed sleep. After resting up, we enjoyed our first breakfast on the ship. It was delicious. We set sail for Jost Van Dyke, where we cleared customs and took a dip. When in route to JVD we got to experience an array of ship activities including: furling the jib on the bowsprit, happily scrubbing the decks, and learning about seamanship. Not to mention, Becket, the ladies' man of watch c, took one for the team and scrubbed the heads on-board. After a scrumptious lunch, we set sail again towards open sea which brought numerous opportunities to fully immerse ourselves in life on the Roseway. We got to experience a surprise jibe and take the helm. After an eventful 12 hour (and counting) day, we dropped anchor on the opposite side of JVD. With presentations and another anchor watch to come, we are all looking forward to having another thrilling day on the schooner.
