Students often walk away from a week aboard Roseway grinning from ear to ear about the whole experience, but it's less common for them to proclaim their favorite lesson to be poetry of the sea. Last week, Diamond Christiana Mark, a 6th grader from Ricardo Richards Junior High School did just that. Not only did she love it, her poetry was lovely. We have included two of her untitled poems that she wrote while underway.
The ocean is a beautiful wonder they say,
And I have to agree as I sail on the Roseway.
The powerful wind, and mystical sea,
This is the life for me.
The great water a-splashing,
The great wind a-blowing,
The great sight I'm seeing,
And sentiments I'm feeling.
