From the moment we woke up, it was very foggy for the first time and it was very hard to see our surroundings. Throughout the day, we were constantly blowing the fog horn so surrounding boats could see us. Today we had a lesson on buoyancy, where we tested different objets in water to see if they were able to float or not. We then learned why certain objects could float while others couldn't and then we built our own boats our of tin foil to see how many coins it could hold before sinking. We also got to make our own names for our little boats. We also practiced many different knots for the upcoming crew olympics in a couple days. One of our favorite knots to learn and do was the tug boat bowline. We docked next to the Schooner Adventure and it was really cool to see them and the boat. Overall, today is a calm but fun day with many different sightings of animals like a jellyfish and a leatherback turtle.
