Discovery Bound: Bound for Sea

Today we sailed for what seemed to be a year long journey. It was windy, harsh, wet and cold, which apparently is what sailing is like. Who would have known? We started with our dock watch with some heavy warmth and a breakfast of champions. Kisses to the cook. We then experienced three different ‘lessons’: boat knots, seamanship in general, and then reflection time. We were all baptized by the Atlantic Ocean multiple times while attempting to find 5 moral things to make our class code for our time on and off the Roseway. Last night we all had to do hour watches at different times which put us in a bit of a confusing knot today, rather than the knots we learned from the crew. Everyone loved the knots and competing for the fastest times. We all took turns like good little girls and boys doing bow watch where we watched the horizon for any other boats, buoys, or charismatic megafauna (a.k.a. lovable, cuddly mammals). We’ve all had lots of fun, but our odyssey aboard the Roseway has just begun . . .
