South Boston Neighborhood House Sets Sail

We welcomed the South Boston Neighborhood House's S.L.I.P. program aboard Roseway to join the crew and live aboard for a 24-hour trip. In their own words, this is what they had to say:

Teamwork is an important quality and the S.L.I.P. team learned that today. Doing activities and working together from raising sails to cleaning on deck, climbing the rig and out on the bowsprit, and bow watch. Not to mention learning a lot about sailing like tying knots and wrapping coils. We navigated ourselves around the harbor, dining on delicious food courtesy of our cook Nick, and admiring the Captain's amazing singing. It felt like a community working together, communicating and learning things together not only about sailing but also each other. In the end, it was a fun experience and well enjoyed.
