12/26/12 - Roseway Back in St. Croix

Roseway Back in St. Croix

We have arrived! Roseway made a very punctual tie-up at 0800 local time this morning, Christmas Eve day. After some essential housekeeping we took the boat out to its mooring and it was official. Roseway is back in St. Croix for the winter season.

Our transit down from Savannah was safe and systems wise fortunately uneventful. After leaving the Savannah River the sea welcomed us with strong twenty-five knot winds from the southwest. Guests and crew alike were challenged to find their ‘sea legs’ and comfort during the first couple days. The winds eventually subsided and a gentle breezes and a moderate swell carried Roseway on an Eastern heading. When Captain decided it was time to finally turn south we were met with quiet winds and a still sea. Luckily Neptune had other things in mind and gave us some beautiful trade winds from the east that would carry us home to St. Croix.

There were many beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and dark star-filled evenings. Jumping off the bowsprit into the crystal clear water by our mooring was a great end to the trip. We hope our friends and family back home are enjoying their Holiday. We wish you were here, the weather is beautiful.
