Today wraps up three days of programming on the Savannah River with the S.T.E.M. (Science Technology, Engineering, and Math) Academy. Today's seventh grade students spent half the day visiting the Ships of the Sea Museum and the other half putting their academics to work aboard Roseway. Lessons included buoyancy and what makes boats float, simple machines and how it's possible for us to raise a 2,000 lb sail, the life of a sailor and what it's like to work and live aboard an 87 year old ship, and navigation--how we know where we are and where we're headed.
It's a good day on Roseway!
