Today we woke up to a very nice singing of happy birthday by the Roseway crew; it was our friend Aly’s birthday. We were forced to do a close family breakfast because it was raining. We started to sail to Portland, despite slow winds. During the sail to Portland we did knot tying, reading and reflecting, bow watches, and we perfected our math skills by becoming navigational pros. When we docked at Portland, we celebrated Aly’s birthday by taking her to ice cream and then going to play at the playground. At the playground we had a nice view of the drawbridge. After that we went to an open air concert in a park. It could be described as jazz/funk/blues/soul and there was a wonderful atmosphere. Tomorrow we have a day of community service – we are looking forward to it and are very excited.
