A beautiful and early morning in Block Island had us up and going. We had the sails up before breakfast (pancakes underway). After our chores that we do everyday (soles and bowls, dishes, and deckwash) we began all sorts of lessons as we made our way to New Bedford. We worked on our book club (still reading Revenge of the Whale by Nathanial Philbrick), learned new navigation techniques, practiced for the deckhand olympics, and some of us even got to steer. We also learned to furl the sails. At dinnertime we got into New Bedford and docked in a very small space before heading off to the local YMCA for showers. We can't wait to go to bed after a long, and great, day!
