It was a special day yesterday aboard Roseway as we welcomed two groups that have been providing much needed services on St. Croix for decades. In the morning, the Women's Coalition brought a group of mothers and children who are currently seeking shelter from domestic violence through the Coalition. This sail was an opportunity for them to have a positive experience and just enjoy the day on the water.
In the afternoon, the Queen Louise Home for Children brought a group of children between the ages of 19 months and 12 years old out for a sail. Each year orphans from the home come sailing with us and it's always fun to see their excitement and enthusiasm. Despite the challenges these children are facing, they are full of joy and energy.
Days like this make us all grateful for the lives we've been given and the ability we have to touch other people's lives and offer them joy and kindness, if only for a few hours. It's a privileged to work with these organizations that are contributing so much to St. Croix.
