PMC: Day Two

Gloucester, MA

Dexter, Declan, and Elisha

Yesterday we raised the anchor and started to head for Salem. The first few hours were beautiful as everyone got to their group lessons on sailing the ship. After that it started to pour rain. The wind shifted and the captain decided to turn around to go to Gloucester to ride out the weather. The crew fearlessly lowered the sails as we encountered the mighty storm. Taking refuge in the salon, the rest of the crew played cards while listening to radio broadcasts from the U.S. Coast Guard.

The weather cleared as Roseway anchored in Gloucester, and after dinner, we finally had our first swim call off of the ship! Overall, the day of sailing was proactive with weather conditions, and the whole crew faced adversity fearlessly.
