World Ocean School is excited to partner with Boston Day and Evening Academy (BDEA) to provide high school students the opportunity to sail from Boston to Nova Scotia. The voyage begins today!
During their voyage, students will take biology and seamanship classes on board and will learn about the impacts of climate change on the world’s oceans and coastal communities. Once in Nova Scotia, students will engage in environmental service projects, seeking to directly address some of the environmental problems they have studied in their classes. They will also be exposed to maritime career options and professional development resources, if they wish to pursue a career in the maritime industry.
Program preparation began in the classroom at BDEA on Wednesday. Check it out!
