Mahalia Dryak (she/her/hers)
Hailing from outside a small town in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, Mahalia obtained a degree in Environmental Studies-Biology from Reed College. During that time she was involved in outdoor education outreach and also got her first taste of sailing aboard the Corwith Cramer with the Sea Education Association.
In her free time, she likes to do anything outside—gardening, hiking, sitting in the sun, etc.—and spend time with her dog, Mocha. Cooking with friends while jamming to music is also another way she likes to spend her time.
Mahalia is excited to work at World Ocean School because she wants to become a better and more well-rounded educator, in hopes of taking the skills she learns with WOS to educate more people on the dangers of microplastics (also plastic pollution in general) and climate change.
