Previous sailing experience: I spent a week aboard the Barque Picton Castle as a Seaman Trainee during her Tall Ships Great Lakes Voyage of 2019. Additionally, I have received sail training aboard a wonderful sloop while on Lake Travis in Texas.
Previous teaching experience: Upon receiving my degree I began working as a substitute teacher in California's San Joaquin Valley. After leaving for Austin to serve in AmeriCorps I again found work as a teacher. This time I taught a theater class for students with Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder through kidsActing Foundation's Horizons Program.
Hobbies: Sailing, Acting, Reading, and being detail-oriented
Why I'm excited to work for World Ocean School: I am thrilled to work for an organization that provides an exciting and engaging learning experience for students and families. And I'm excited to live and work aboard a National Historic Landmark—a schooner, no less! The most American of all the ships.
