Captain Jamie Trost grew up sailing on Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie, and has been fascinated with both War of 1812 History and traditional ships for most of his life. Not surprisingly, four of the 16 ships he’s worked for have been War of 1812 replicas—Pride II, Niagara, Lynx, and the currently being constructed Porcupine, where served as Project Manager for the initial stages. His other commands include the Schooners Sultana, Denis Sullivan, Bagheera, Wendameen, and the Barquentine Gazela. In his current role of Program Director of Pride of Baltimore, Inc. Captain Trost is busy marketing and revising the Education Program he oversaw the creation of, and writing grants, but he is happy for the chance to sail aboard Roseway. Jamie holds a 500 Gross Ton Ocean Masters license.
