Aaron grew up sailing in New England, and has voyaged as far as Nova Scotia and Honduras on traditionally rigged sailing vessels. For much of the last 10 years he has captained wooden sailing vessels in Maine’s Penobscot Bay. He taught navigation at Maine Maritime Academy while earning a Master’s degree in Maritime Management there.
Aaron holds a USCG 1600 ton Ocean Master’s license, and has recently spent time working aboard the most powerful emergency response tugs in the world, stationed in the Gulf of Alaska. When not sailing, he spends his time with his family in Thomaston Maine.
