Andre McBean

Although originally from Haiti, Andre has lived in St. Croix for over 50 years. He became a U.S. citizen in the early 1970s. He has a strong background in finance/accounting, having worked in the Accounting Department at Hovensa for over 30 years. He is dedicated to the St. Croix community, particularly to youth education. Andre was trained as a cabinet and furniture artisan in his mother's woodworking business, and is now a master woodworker/craftsman, and continues to work with mahogany on St. Croix.

Andre graduated from Durham College in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1961 with a degree in Accounting. He speaks French, English, and Creole. Andre's skills extend to highly competitive athletic sports, including soccer, tennis, recreational shooting, and martial arts. Andre is enthusiastic toward marine/maritime pursuits, particularly boating.   

Andre serves as President of People United for a Better Virgin Islands (a nonprofit organization), President of the VI Shooting Sport Federation, and he served as the past President of the St. Croix Marksmanship Association.
