Open Boat Tours

Stop by the Moakley Courthouse and get a first-hand look of our historic Schooner Roseway. Walk across the gangway and release your inner sailor; take a peek at Roseway's living quarters, check out the view from the stern, and explore our 137' vessel. This is a great opportunity to meet our crew and to learn about their experience living and working as Deckhand Educators aboard Roseway.

Experience aspects of our education programs: knot-tying, simple machines, buoyancy, charts, and navigational tools.

We have several scheduled Open Boat Tours throughout the summer. If you are interested in a open boat tour outside of those hours please contact Marisa at marisa@worldoceanschool.org.

How to find us: Boston is a walking city with very limited parking, so we recommend you do not drive to the dock location. The Courthouse Dock is located less than a block from the Silver Line MBTA station, next to the old Daily Catch Restaurant at 2 Northern Avenue.

The closest MBTA stops are:

  • Courthouse - Silver Line - about a 3 minute walk
  • South Station - Red Line, Silver Line, Commuter Rail - about an 11 minute walk
  • Aquarium - Blue Line - about a 13 minute walk
  • Downtown Crossing - Orange Line, Red Line - about a 16 minute walk
