Internships: Finance and Administration Intern

Schedule: At least 8 hours per week (flexible)

World Ocean School is seeking a Finance and Administration Intern to begin work as soon as possible at its headquarters at the Boston Fish Pier. World Ocean School delivers an authentic method of experiential education at sea that empowers students of diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential as responsible, productive, and engaged community members. Every time our 93-year old Schooner Roseway sets sail, the students on board become more engaged, inspired and connected to learning. In this past year, almost 1,000 students participated in World Ocean School's programs. World Ocean School is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining accounts in Quickbooks
  • Managing Paypal and other online transaction records
  • Assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Preparing for the 2017 Audit
  • Maintaining historical files
  • Other administrative tasks

Hours are flexible and depend on the needs/availability of the selected intern. Work must be done on site at the World Ocean School office within the Boston Fish Pier in the Seaport. Work should be scheduled between 8AM and 5PM. A commitment of 8 hours or so per week is desirable, although there is some flexibility.
